Just like its musical inspiration, the Tenor 4-String Jake Shimabukuro “Blue” ukulele is in a class of its own. It features the highest quality materials and even the artist’s personal signature as a Mother of Pearl inlay on the ebony fretboard. Luthier Casey Kamaka created this beautiful instrument after discussions with the artist, distilling his extensive knowledge and experience with Jake’s preferences in tone, playability and appearance. The result is a one-of-a-kind ukulele that truly represents Kamaka Featured Artist and internationally renowned ukulele virtuoso, Jake Shimabukuro.
In honor of Jake’s commitment to his roots and his desire to play an instrument reminiscent of his island home, the entire body of the “Blue” ukulele is outlined in abalone heart highlighted with blue accents in the purfling and rosette to represent the vast Pacific Ocean that surrounds the Hawaiian islands. The custom design and handcrafted precision of the “Blue” ukulele reflects the artist’s unmatched musicianship and dynamic signature style.
Every Kamaka ukulele comes with a free Kamaka-branded ukulele case that was designed specifically for the exact ukulele model to match the instrument’s body size and length. The vinyl-wrapped, plywood hard case features a soft velvet lining that is padded around the back of the instrument with a protective, arched top cover that ensures the instrument fits snugly and securely when closed. The custom ukulele case also features a convenient compartment to hold tuners, polishing cloths and other accessories.
