This 1997 Fender Custom Shop Jimi Hendrix Monterey Pop Festival Stratocaster Diamond Dealer Edition is offered in mint, unplayed condition and includes the original case, paperwork, accessories, and original Guitar Center purchase receipt dated January 1998.
Based on Jimi Hendrix's 1965 Fiesta Red Stratocaster, this limited-edition model commemorates the hand-painted guitar he famously played and burned during his performance at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. The artwork was hand-painted by renowned Fender Custom Shop artist Pamelina H., faithfully recreating the original design.
This example is serial number 115 and is part of the limited Diamond Dealer Edition, featuring the raised gold chevron Fender headstock logo with a genuine inset diamond. A total of 210 Monterey Pop Stratocasters were produced, with only 163 built as the Diamond Dealer Edition.
The guitar has remained carefully preserved since new and shows no signs of play. The finish is free of checking, scratches, dings, or pick marks, making it an exceptionally well-preserved example.
Included are the original hardshell case, certificate of authenticity, case candy, paperwork, and the original Guitar Center sales receipt, making this an outstanding collector's example of one of the Fender Custom Shop's most recognizable artist models.
